“Free online games” usually comes with strings attached: download this first, then register, then find out the interesting part costs money. Tamashebi.cc works differently. It brings together the games people really play at Georgian tables — Nardi, domino, Joker, Japanese Joker and Bura — and every one of them opens in the browser, on a computer or a phone. There is nothing to pay and nothing to download.
What you can play right now
- Nardi — for two, with fifteen checkers and two dice. Georgian short nardi with hitting, oini, mars and koks; matches to 1, 3, 5 or 7 points.
- Domino — by Georgian rules: one stavka, points in multiples of five, a protected boneyard and the riba. Matches to 75, 175, 255 or 355 points.
- Joker — for four, with 36 cards and two jokers: bidding, khishti, premia and moshla; the standard 24 hands or nines.
- Japanese Joker — the two-player version of Joker, with five columns on the table and a match to 21.
- Bura — three-card to 31, five-card to 61, or five-card in pairs for four players.
Seka is on its way — its page already has the rules and combinations, but the game does not open yet. Shashi (draughts) is not on the site yet. We say both plainly so nobody goes looking for a button that is not there.
How to start in a minute
- Open the page of the game you want — Nardi or domino, for example.
- Pick an open table, use quick play, or create a table of your own.
- When you join as a guest the site suggests a name — keep it or type your own (3 to 20 characters) and choose one of twelve avatars.
- Take your seat. No email, password or confirmation letter is needed anywhere along the way.
Guest or account
As a guest you can play every available game at ordinary free tables, including a friend’s table opened from a link. A guest profile lives in your browser: clear its data or switch devices and you cannot get back to it. That is why rated matches, tournaments, the friends list and coin tables need an account. When you decide you like it here, “save your results” turns the same profile into a permanent one — your name, matches and statistics come with you.
A live opponent, a friend or a bot
In every game you can meet a stranger, or create a table and send the link to a friend — with a password if you like. Practice bots are in domino, at three levels, and in Bura, where the host of a free table can fill empty seats with bots. In Nardi and Joker your opponent is always a person; a bot steps in there only when a player’s move time runs out or they leave the table.
Rating and tournaments
With an account a match can be rated: the result moves your rating and earns you a place on the leaderboard. Both players in a rated match need an account, and games against a bot or a guest do not change anyone’s rating — so the table shows only real results. The tournaments page shows which tournaments are running and which are open for entry.
On a phone or a computer
The site works fully in a phone browser, on Android and on iPhone. The table fits the screen, there is no app to install and no storage to fill. If your connection drops for a moment, the match is kept on the server: come back in time and you carry on from exactly where you stopped.
Why it is free — and what Domino Coin is
There is no payment form anywhere on the site. Some tables and tournaments use Domino Coin — an in-game coin you get with an account and collect by playing. It does not stand for money and never turns into money, so playing here is entertainment, not betting.
Fair play
Cards, tiles and dice are shuffled and thrown on the server from a cryptographic source of randomness, the server checks every move, and your opponent’s hand is never sent to your browser. The details are on the fair play page.
