About Tamashebi.cc — Georgian Games by Georgian Rules
Why Tamashebi.cc was made, how the game runs on the server, why nobody can see another player’s cards, and why Domino Coin will never turn into money.
Tamashebi.cc is a platform for Georgian board and card games. We started with domino, because the online versions that existed did not know the Georgian rules: the stavka, the riba and points in multiples of five were either missing altogether or worked incorrectly. Anyone who had played domino in a courtyard or at the table saw a different game on the screen.
The other games were added for the same reason. Today you can play domino, Joker, Japanese Joker, Nardi and Bura here, and Seka is being prepared. Each uses the rules that took hold at the Georgian table — khishti and premia in Joker, oini, mars and koks in Nardi, davi and “var” in Bura — rather than a translation of some foreign variant. So with every new game the first question is how it is played in Georgia, and only after that how it should look on the screen.
How it works — in plain words
The game opens in the browser, on a computer or a phone, with nothing to download. But the browser only draws the game and sends your choice. The game logic lives on the server: when you place a tile or play a card, the server checks that it is your turn, that the tile or card really is in your hand and that the move is allowed by the rules. A move that is not allowed simply does not happen. The server does the scoring — khishti, mars or riba — so there are no arguments about counting here.
The state of the game is kept on the server too. If your connection drops or you close the tab, the match does not vanish: come back in time and you carry on from exactly where you stopped.
Fair play
- Shuffling and dice happen on the server. The server shuffles the cards and tiles and throws the Nardi dice, using the platform’s cryptographic source of randomness, without bias. The browser never supplies the randomness, so nobody can influence a deal.
- Nobody is sent another player’s hand. For each player the server builds a separate picture containing only what that player is allowed to see. Your opponent’s cards, tiles and the order of the boneyard simply never reach your browser — so there is no way to “see” them.
- The bot does not cheat. It gets the same limited picture as a person and makes only legal moves.
- Every move is checked. The server accepts only a legal move, and only from the player whose turn it is.
The details, game by game, are on the fair play page.
Rating and rules of conduct
Only registered accounts take part in rated matches: a bot or a guest can neither win nor lose rating. One player has only one game at a time, and the server accepts only a limited number of commands per second, so it cannot be “flooded”. Software assistance, playing on someone else’s account and agreeing a result in advance are forbidden — they are grounds for blocking the account.
Languages
The site is available in four languages: Georgian, English, Russian and Turkish. The rules and terms are those of the Georgian table everywhere — a translation changes the words, not the game. Articles are written in Georgian, English and Russian; Turkish readers see the English version.
Domino Coin and money
Tamashebi.cc is an entertainment site, not a gambling one. Every game is free. Domino Coin is a virtual in-game coin: you get it with an account, collect it by playing and use it at some tables and in tournaments. It cannot be bought, and it cannot be exchanged for money, withdrawn or sold — nor is any such possibility planned. The site has no top-ups, no payment forms and no real stakes.
Guest or account
You do not need to register to play: you join as a guest with a name and an avatar. An account becomes useful when you want rating, tournaments, friends or coin tables. What data we keep and why is set out in the privacy policy, and the rules of use in the terms of service.
