Nardi Online — Georgian Nardi, Free and in Your Browser

Nardi online, nardi onlain, nardis tamashi — they all mean the same thing: nardi against a live opponent, right now, with nothing to download. How to start, the rules in brief and tips for playing on a phone.

Nardi online, nardi onlain, nardis tamashi — this is how many people search for nardi on a phone’s Latin keyboard, and every one of these phrases means the same thing: you want to play nardi right now, in the browser, without downloading anything. That is exactly what Tamashebi.cc offers — Georgian nardi against a live opponent, for free. This page is a short guide: how to sit down at a table in a minute, which rules the game follows and what to know if you play on a phone.

What “nardi online” means here

This is not foreign backgammon under a Georgian name. What is played here is the short nardi that people at a Georgian table simply call nardi: fifteen checkers, two dice, hitting and the bar, and a game is scored as oini, mars or koks. The numbers on the dice keep their old names too — yaki, du, se, chari, panji, shashi. Long nardi is not on the site yet.

How to play right now

  1. Open the Nardi page — the tables are right there.
  2. Sit at an open table or create your own: you choose how many points the match is played to (1, 3, 5 or 7) and how much time each move has.
  3. If you have no account, join as a guest: the site suggests a name, you choose an avatar — and you are already at the board.
  4. To play a friend, create a table and send them the link — on WhatsApp, Messenger or wherever you like. If needed, the table can also have a password.

One thing plainly: in Nardi your opponent is always a living person — there is no button to choose a bot yet. A bot only makes a move when a player’s time has run out.

The rules in one minute

  • A game starts with each player rolling one die: whoever rolls higher starts and plays exactly those two numbers.
  • Each die is one move. On a double — the same number on both dice — four moves are played.
  • A checker may land on an empty point, on your own checkers or on a single checker of your opponent. A point held by two or more checkers is closed.
  • Landing on a lone checker hits it — it goes to the bar, and until you bring it back in you cannot move any other checker.
  • If both dice can be played, both must be played; if only one can, it must be the higher number.
  • When all fifteen checkers are home, bearing off begins. Whoever bears off all of theirs first wins.

Oini, mars and koks

Wins are worth different amounts. Oini is one point — the loser has borne off at least one checker. Mars is two points — the loser has not borne off a single one. Koks is three points — the loser has borne off none and still has at least one checker hit or left in the winner’s home. So in a match to 7 points a single koks changes the score sharply. There is no doubling cube, the davi, here — the game follows the classic rules.

Nardi with a friend

Nardi is best played against an old rival. Create a table, choose a one-point game or a long match and send the link — if your friend has no account, they sit down as a guest. Both of you see the same dice at the same moment, so nobody ever has to ask “what did you roll?” again.

Nardi on a phone — tips

  • If the board feels small, try holding the phone sideways — tapping the checkers becomes more precise.
  • When you tap a checker, every point it can move to is shown — so it is hard to move by mistake.
  • Move time is limited, so turn notifications off during a game: one call can cost you your move time.
  • If the internet drops for a second, there is no need to panic: the game is kept on the server, and if you come back in time you carry on from the same position.
  • When you play as a guest, do not use a private (incognito) tab if you want to keep your profile — closing it ends the session too.

Is it free? Where does money come in?

Nowhere. Nardi is free; there are free tables and tables for Domino Coin — the coin is virtual, cannot be bought and cannot be exchanged for money. The dice are thrown by the server from a cryptographic source of randomness, and both players see the number at the same time — the browser has no way to influence it.

Frequently asked questions

Are nardi online and nardi onlain the same thing?
Yes. Both are searches for the same thing — nardi in the browser. Here it is Georgian short nardi, for free.
Do I need to register?
No. As a guest you play with a name and an avatar. An account is needed for rating, tournaments and coin tables.
Can I play against a bot?

Does it work on a phone?
Yes, in the browser — on Android and on iPhone. You do not need an app.
Is there long nardi?
Not yet. The site plays short nardi — with hitting and the bar.

Domino Coin is a virtual in-game coin. It is not money: it cannot be bought, sold or exchanged for money, and it means nothing outside the site. There are no real-money stakes, top-ups or payments here.
